Interested in visiting Kirkwood Community College?

Counselors will be taking 15 students to visit Kirkwood for one of their TGIF days. We will be going Friday, Nov. 21st and be gone for the entire school day. Interested students should sign up in the 11/12 office where you will get a permission slip to be signed by both parents and teachers. First 15 to sign up get to go! A speaker from the Marion Police Department in the field of Criminal Justice will be at LMHS next Tuesday, October 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the College/Career Center to discuss the career. Wartburg Visit Opportunity

Linn-Mar students are invited to attend an Education Visit Day at Wartburg College on October 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Students will benefit from the opportunity to join other scholars, teacher candidates, and Wartburg professors in large and small groups. An Education Visit Day scholarship totaling up to $1,500 is available for students who attend. All participants are also invited to eat lunch with Wartburg students and faculty while hearing a brief overview of what Wartburg College has to offer. Internships are more popular that ever!

Gain work experience and find out if a career is right for you through the Workplace Learning Connection's internship program. High school juniors and seniors (sophomores can do a summer internship between their sophomore and junior year) can get 90 hours of planned and supervised career experiences. Interns will gain insight that will help them make more informed career choices while earning LM credit. Deadline to apply is Nov. 14.
